Hi, I'm a Martha Beck certified Life Coach.
I work with people of all ages who are seeking to make a shift in their life. I'm talking about a vibrational shift which includes all areas Spiritual, mental, emotional and physical, in order to bring peace, clarity, healing, creativity and "magic" into their every day life. Or, as my mother would say, "I help you find the better side of the middle".
The wonderfully crazy thing is, it's not "magic," at least not in the sense that wonderful things happen to you out of nowhere from no real source. The answers are already within you. Just as a beautiful piece of stone becomes a magnificent sculpture only when you chip away at it, so does your life.
Your deeper intuition already knows what you want. Your body already speaks the truth of your heart. I help you to dissolve the mental roadblocks, which are keeping you from accessing these answers.
When lifetime beliefs and fears are the ruling force in your life, we become lost or maybe even paralyzed to move forward. I'm not here to organize your closet; I'm here to organize your thoughts. So you can clearly see what you want and what you already have, and provide some space for the "magic" to flow through your life. Is it time to get rid of the unnecessary and outdated thoughts that lead to a cluttered and stressed out mind? Is it time for you to start living the life you are supposed to live?

Mindfulness is the ability to pay deliberate, friendly attention to our experiences around us: the ability to pay attention on purpose.
Mindfulness is paying attention to our experience in a way that allows us to respond rather than react. It is a quality of inner-stillness that is always available, even when our life or circumstances feel out of our control and chaotic.
Mindfulness leads to an emotional and mental calm for kids and adults. But first one has to develop the muscle of awareness. We spend a lot of time developing our intelligence in school, strengthening our bodies at the gym. But we pay little attention to strengthening our power of awareness, concentration and focus.
Mindfulness workshops consist of a series of short bursts of exercises designed to develop the ability to be aware of the present moment.
It means living in the present moment (which is not the same thing as thinking about the present moment.)
I have combined my acting training with my training with Mindful Schools and created a series of exercises designed to increase awareness and concentration.

There's nothing like best friends – they can make you feel great because they see the best in you. Wouldn't it be great if your BFF (best friend forever) was always with you! Well that can happen…when you become your own BFF! Now this might sound a little silly but please hear me out. Teaching your kids to become their own BFF can be one of the most important skills you ever teach them. The key to teaching your kids how to be their own BFF is to teach them about the power of positive self-talk. Self-talk refers to what you say to yourself – both verbally (out loud) and through your thoughts. Whether you are conscious of it or not, you are almost always thinking about something and "talking" to yourself. Every day, every hour, and every minute - you are saying something to yourself that is either building you up or tearing you down. Most of the time, you are not even aware of the messages you send. And your kids are doing it too! There are two types of self-talk – negative self-talk and positive self-talk. Negative self-talk includes statements, observations, and judgments that create the grungies and keep your kids from achieving their goals. Negative self-talk includes statements such as "I can't", "I'm going to fail this test", "They won't like me," and "I'm bored." Negative self-talk creates an undercurrent of self-doubt - eroding self-esteem and self-confidence. Positive self-talk includes statements, observations, and affirmations, which support your kids in their lives. Positive self-talk includes statements such as "I can do it!", "I'm ready to ace this test!", and "I feel great." Positive self-talk creates positive energy and prepares both the conscious mind and the subconscious mind to create that experience. Self-talk is one of the most powerful influences on your kids' emotions, their mood, their self-esteem, their self-confidence, their actions, and therefore what they create in life. With positive self-talk, your kids learn that what they say to themselves is more important than what anyone else says to them. The good news is that your kids can learn how to identify and shift negative self-talk and how to proactively develop positive self-talk so they can become their own best friend forever! Everything I needed to learn about life, I learned through acting class.
It's true. I learned how to be "me" by learning how to be "other" people. All those basic questions needed to create a full, alive, powerful character are exactly the questions needed to create an authentically powerful and creative essential self. Who am I? What do I want? How am I going to get it? What are the obstacles, which stand in my way? Do these questions sound familiar? As an actor, I asked these questions on a daily basis. As plain old me… I never even thought to investigate in such a thorough and specific manner. Of course it mattered when playing somebody else, but when it came to my own life… well, that's just too scary to look at.
What if I fail? What if I'm not enough? What if they don't like me?
Finally, all my years of training to be somebody else are paying off. I'm learning to ask myself in my everyday life, who I am? And what do I want? What are my values, as opposed to my parents', my husband's or my brother's and sister's? What is it I really want? What role am I playing for other people?
We are all actors in one sense or another. We have the appropriate mask for the appropriate occasion, or the appropriate person. Masks are certainly fun and entertaining when we wear them with purpose. I love to put on a costume, as long as I am able to take it off to breathe.
I used to feel that the grass was always greener on the other side of the street. I lived to make my street look like theirs, until I unmasked my knowing self, the one that breathes clarity. Now, I love my grass. I love my yard. In it, I feel comfortable, happy and free to be me.
