What is Life Coaching?
Life coaching gives you the tools to elevate your life to the next level; to make it bigger.
It all boils down to "who" you are and "what" you want.
You don't know what that looks like? Life coach.
If you feel stuck, paralyzed with an avalanche of thought and worry heading towards you?
If you know that there is something "more" out there but don't know how to get it?
If you are ready to discover what makes you shine
"Fear is the cheapest room in the house. I would like to see you living in better conditions." - Hafiz
I am a life coach who has had the privilege of training with Martha Beck. There have been few people in my life who have had such impact, filled with joy, challenge and inspiration. I am passionately filled with happiness and purpose to be able to pass on these tools of self-knowledge.
Testimonials"I want to thank you for giving me the tools to examine my feelings in every day life as well as tools and dreams to take forward. I feel renewed and refreshed. Never in a million years did I ever think I would even be interested in speaking to a Life coach. Something in me urged me to bid at the event and I am so glad that I did. I have just felt so light and uplifted after speaking with you. You feel like a girlfriend, which is such a compliment." (Recently divorced woman who won a package of LIfe Coaching sessions at a Cancer charity auction.) "This was the first time I was emotional about what I've been through with this cancer/not cancer thing. Thank you so much for helping me to open up and be cathartic. You truly are gifted and I feel so blessed to have found you!" (Woman in her fifties restarting her career after taking time out as a stay at home mom.) "Liz is a compassionate, intuitive coach who has the unique ability to sort through even the most complex situations." "Shortly after my first couple of meetings with Liz, I started to feel better, not only about myself, but my life choices and also my work. I had much more clarity, felt less anxious and much more confident in my work. She was also honest enough to give me insight to see where I was getting in my own way. I walked away from business meetings with an amazing sense of self confidence that I never would have had, had I not worked with her. I was focused, on point and I didn't second guess myself at all." (Free lance screen writer in her forties.)
"Learn to respond as if it is the first day of your life and the last day of your life."I was born and raised in California although, I had a strict "New England" upbringing, which made for a confusing albeit interesting balance. My early life was a series of mixed messages; to me; to others; to the universe. So, I did what young people do, I learned to survive. My path took me towards acting. If I wasn't free to be honest about whom I was (even if most of this was self imposed) I could certainly express myself through the characters of others! I made "pretending to be who you needed me to be" a profession; in every area of my life. I was good at this… too good.
One day, in my twenties, ugh, I had a wake up call. A respected acting coach and mentor told me he "didn't trust me." "What?" I said. "How can you not trust me? I'm such a nice person!" He replied " How can I trust you if you don't trust yourself?"
Wow… I heard it; the tipping point. The moment my essential self yelled "I quit!" "Even your teachers are calling you out."
From that time on, I devoted myself to a path of authenticity. I dug myself out of the false life I was leading and have slowly transformed my life, seeking truth. I now fully experience a blissful personal life with a supportive husband and two teen-aged kids, whom I am grateful for every day. I have also had the privilege of a history of thirty years working as a professional actor, in film, television and theatre. Those of you who love long stories which never end might know me as "Blake" from Guiding Light; a seventeen-year journey, which, ironically, taught me about who I was, and what I wanted.
I have been coaching throughout much of my professional life. Although I began solely as an "acting" coach, I eventually branched out to the "civilian" population with a broader Life Coaching skill set, and continued to hone that skill set by incorporating my acting and directing training with Martha Beck's life coach training, as it became evident that my true passion was to help guide people to a deeper connection to their essential self. I had one too many students come to me trying to "be" something they were not in order to fulfill societal, family or professional expectations. "Why are you trying to be like Clint Eastwood? His career is already taken!"
True "star" quality is authentic. Others may imitate but authentic power is owned by each of us individually and cannot be cloned.
My love of compassionate listening combined with my curiosity for discovering behavioral motivations have led to my discovering my life's purpose. Who knew that my acting and directing skills would have led to a direction as powerful and transformative as Life Coaching? I love the magic that happens when I work with people seeking truth. The magic of those "aha" moments when the body and mind reveal what the heart has known all along.

"If you are in your "right life" then activity feels like play, and non-activity feels like rest. If you are not in your "right life" then activity feels like work, and non-activity feels like boredom." - Martha Beck
MissionI guide people of all ages, who are stuck; they may be looking for direction or just plain itching for "something else", in order to bring peace, clarity, creativity and "magic" into their lives. The wonderfully crazy thing is, it's not "magic," at least not in the sense that wonderful things happen to you out of nowhere from no real source. The answers are already within you. Just as a beautiful piece of stone becomes a magnificent sculpture only when you chip away at it, so does your life. Your deeper intuition already knows what you want. Your body already speaks the truth of your heart. I help you to dissolve the mental roadblocks, which are keeping you from accessing these answers. When lifetime beliefs and fears are the ruling force in your life, we become lost or maybe even paralyzed to move forward. I'm not here to organize your closet; I'm here to organize your thoughts. So you can clearly see what you want and what you already have, and provide some space for the "magic" to flow through your life. Is it time to get rid of the unnecessary and outdated thoughts that lead to a cluttered and stressed out mind? Is it time for you to start living the life you are supposed to live? Discover what makes you shine. Own it. Live it.

Everything I needed to learn about life, I learned through acting class.
It's true. I learned how to be "me" by learning how to be "other" people. All those basic questions needed to create a full, alive, powerful character are exactly the questions needed to create an authentically powerful and creative essential self. Who am I? What do I want? How am I going to get it? What are the obstacles, which stand in my way? Do these questions sound familiar? As an actor, I asked these questions on a daily basis. As plain old me… I never even thought to investigate in such a thorough and specific manner. Of course it mattered when playing somebody else, but when it came to my own life… well, that's just too scary to look at.
What if I fail? What if I'm not enough? What if they don't like me?
Finally, all my years of training to be somebody else are paying off. I'm learning to ask myself in my everyday life, who I am? And what do I want? What are my values, as opposed to my parents', my husband's or my brother's and sister's? What is it I really want? What role am I playing for other people?
We are all actors in one sense or another. We have the appropriate mask for the appropriate occasion, or the appropriate person. Masks are certainly fun and entertaining when we wear them with purpose. I love to put on a costume, as long as I am able to take it off to breathe.
I used to feel that the grass was always greener on the other side of the street. I lived to make my street look like theirs, until I unmasked my knowing self, the one that breathes clarity. Now, I love my grass. I love my yard. In it, I feel comfortable, happy and free to be me.
Is this what you want in your life? Ask the right questions and the answers are within you.
Your yard is waiting.
